| In June 1878, two men were moving hay by hand, when overhead a wandering swarm of bees came by looking for a place to cluster. One of these men was Frank W. Jones, who followed the swarm to their cluster on a nearby tree, cut off the branch and carried it home to a makeshift hive. |
