The brainchild of Leon Tenenbaum - hence the L.T. name - Elte Carpets was conceived in Paris in 1919. Elte was later reborn in Toronto, with Fred Metrick (Leons son-in-law) at the helm. In 1974, Elte Carpets built an impressive little out of the way, a lot out of the ordinary carpet showroom on Eastern Avenue. The property was expropriated by the City of Toronto in 1988 and the business was relocated again to its present location at 80 Ronald Avenue. Over 75 years later Elte Carpets & Home is still family owned and operated.
