Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on technique which was developed by an American osteopathic physician about eighty years ago. The basic concept is that there is a continuous subtle movement of the cranial bones resulting in a rhythm of approximately six to twelve cycles per minute. It is postulated that the rhythm is in response to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fluctuations. There is also a subtle movement of the whole body in response to the fluid pressure changes around the central nervous system.
